Well yes  I did set myself a target to write this Blog more often!!! Not for it to go completly in the opposite direction and not write one for  nearly a year and half.

Suffice to say life got in the way and I had to step back and take stock for a number of reason one was, my wife was very ill pleased to report however that she seems a lot better.

Ok so what do we have planed lots of great New Training programmes to help all of you become more experienced in trouble shooting and resolving problems that can occur on a daily basis in the sewing room.

To train to become a sewing Mechanic you will need to visit us at our training centre in East Sussex where we offer a wide range of "EASY as 123" MEC

I seriously can not get a handle on this year at all it is going far to fast for me to keep up.

This week I am training people on Industrial Lockstitch Machines a three day Mec 1 course, this course is the starting block for the industrial sector of the sewing machine repairs courses that we provide. There are numerous industrial sewing machines  that are able to tackle a wide range of  materials. That in turn make products that you would not credit have been made with a sewing machine.
Like all mechanical objects they can be very trying at times when they are not functioning correctly especially if you are working to a manufactoring deadline. We are always happy to help if we can so if you have a technical problem please give us a call 01293 324014. We will do our best to help resolve the problem for you.

Okay will sign off and try and talk again very soon  !!! We shall see .........

Ok so has you can see it has been rather a long time since I have put pen to paper so to speak but have been rather busy.

How about we start with a clean page for 2017 and look to write a blog at least once a week tat is poss to much to soon lets make a promise to write once a month at leastand see how we get on.

As we already discussed before my passion is very much Sewing Machines
both Domestic and Industrial. I find it most rewarding when I able to get a sewing machine working that has been sitting around in  a cupboard under the stairs or perhaps even  some dark corner up in the attic for years.

For 2017 Artizan Training have some brand new coursesfor sewing machine repairs planned both at our training school in Kent and on line. If you are a school or college we have our two in one this is a one day course we provide at your establishment.Wish to have more information on this course please contact one of the team

So What has been happening

I have been fixing a range of interesting Industrial Machines during the last few weeks. From a Carpet Whipper to a Juncker Industrial Sewing Machine what are they you may well ask ..........

A Carpet Whipper
If you have ever seen the edge of a carpet piece with what appears to be closley stitched wollen edge this would have most likley been stitched by a heavy duty carpet edge (whipper) overlocker. Karpet King is the most popular and robust of this style of machine although an old Singer 81K Carpet Whipper can still do a good job.

A Juncker
is a machine used for out sole stitching, most of them are normaly lockstitch. Sole stitching comes in many forms and this one is a very odd beast as it is chain stitch and is used for stitching leather soles to the uppers.

It is realy great to have the chance to work on all these interesting Industrial machines,  as my specialist field is Leather and Heavy Duty Machines as I started in this industry as a closing mechanic with  C & J Clarkes at there head office in street, in the west country

I have since been involved in servicing and repairing a whole range of both domestic and industrial machines. Plus I can  now also add to my list, Long Arm computerised Quilting Machines that are used for the Patchwork and Quilting Creators to finish off there amazing quilts. The versions I specialise in are where the head moves in an x y axis to a pre programmed pattern produced by a computer so the quilt is secured to rollers Check out APQS or Gammill.

Well fixing sewing machines is a far cry from mixing cement with a shovel as I did at the start of my working life with my father and brother in the building trade. However, I some how changed direction and have been working in the sewing industry for many years mostly as a mechanic/engineer.

So if you are interested in sewing machines, industrial or domestic, be it the workings of them or the history of them

Keep visiting...
